As of today, I have officially been at sea for 7 days! It
has also taken me about 7 days to get my sea legs. The second day at sea was
pretty rough for most people and I learned the hard way that you shouldn't put
on a full seasickness patch because the side effects are about ten times worse
then the actual seasickness.
Once I was able to get used to the constant rocking of the
ship, life on board became much easier. My classes are great and the teachers
definitely are not letting up on the workload just because we are at sea, so
keeping up with everything while adapting to the shipboard environment has been
a challenge. I am looking forward to getting to Hawaii and having a much-needed
break.
We are supposed to arrive in Hilo, Hawaii early tomorrow
morning but we are only there for about 24 hours before we embark on the second
leg of our journey across the Pacific Ocean. The trip from Hawaii to Japan is
supposed to be a wild one and the crew is mentally preparing us for the rough
water ahead. I'm a little nervous but I cannot wait for my journey to really
start once we reach Japan. They say that semester flies by once we hit
Japan and the next thing you know we are leaving Morocco and are on our way to
our final port in London. Hopefully it doesn't go by too quick.
I tried to attach a photo of the ocean yesterday, which
was absolutely breathtaking! Hopefully it worked. I'll try to keep this updated
more as the trip continues but no promises.
